Miniature Bayard Alpert Type Ionization Vacuum Gauge



Transition through medium vacuum into high and ultra-high vacuum measurement with the Teledyne Hastings Instruments IGE-3000 Ionization Gauge Tubes and Electronics. Working with a diffusion pump, turbo molecular pump, ion pump or cryo pump. If you are, atmosphere has been removed (rough vacuum) and gases are originating from the surfaces.

The dual-filament miniaturized Bayard-Alpert ionization gauge tube and electronics package is a complete system. In keeping with Teledyne Hastings commitment to customer satisfaction, the IGE-3000 is available with 3 standard fitting options, two independent TTL set points, automatic high pressure shut down, and remote filament operation.

The Hastings History

 

In 1968, Hastings-Raydist (Teledyne-Hastings Instruments) was selected to provide the sensor to measure the vacuum in the moon rock box that was to accompany Apollo 11 on the first moon landing. The box, with the Hastings vacuum sensor installed, was sterilized and sealed under vacuum prior to lift off. It was opened on the moon, rock samples were put in the box and it was sealed again under moon vacuum. It was returned to earth and the vacuum was checked with the Hastings vacuum sensor, the seal had not been compromised.
